The Dance Summit is a non-competitive performance festival for aspiring dancers ages 8+, held at and sponsored by Point Park University. We are excited to provide young dancers an opportunity to shine on stage!
MISSION
The mission of The Dance Summit is to cultivate a thriving, nurturing community where aspiring dancers can explore, create, and shine on stage. We are dedicated to providing a supportive environment that fosters artistic growth, encourages collaboration, and celebrates diversity. Through our commitment to excellence and inclusivity, we aim to connect artists through performance where all can develop and express their passion.

robert mckee
Robert Mckee attended Point Park University and is a former company member of Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago. He has been a guest dancer and choreographer most recently with Chicago Dance Crash, Cerqua Rivera, and other Independent projects. Robert began an interest in teaching and choreography at a very young age. Influenced by percussive rhythms and dynamic shapes, he finds himself always inspired to create.
Robert has been on faculty at the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, a teacher for Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, and teaches throughout the Chicagoland area. He has worked with Rockford Dance Company, The Giordano Project, Giordano Juniors, McDonald Dance Academy, Barrington High School, Northshore School of Dance Performing Ensemble, the Giordano on Giordano choreography showcase, Riverside Brookfield High School, Northern Illinois University and Framework Dance Chicago.

kate vandivier
Kate is a professional dancer, teacher, and arts administrator. She was the Teaching Qualifications Coordinator for the British Ballet Organization in London; and is currently the Dance Department Administrator at Point Park University.
Her teaching credits include Monarch Studios (London), Joffrey Academy (Chicago), Dance Masters of Pennsylvania, Director of the North Shore Repertory Dance Ensemble (Chicago), and, currently, Point Park University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Point Park University, her Diploma in Dance Teaching from the British Ballet Organization, and is a certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor. Kate's performing credits include Chicago Repertory Ballet, where she also served as the company's Administrative Director, Giordano Dance Chicago II, Piel Morena Contemporary Dance, Thodos Dance Chicago, and the City of Chicago’s Dance in the Parks.

The Dance Summit began in Chicago over 10 years ago, hosted by Inaside Dance Chicago and attracting hundreds of dancers in the Chicagoland area to each event.

The Dance Summit provides the opportunity for young dancers to gain valuable performing experience in a positive, nurturing, and collaborative environment.
who can participate?
The Dance Summit is by invitation only, but if you are interested in attending an event, please get in touch with us via the contact details below. We'd love to hear from you!
Which dance genres can participate?
All are welcome! From jazz, contemporary, ballet, and pointe to cultural dance such as Bharatanatyam, we welcome all genres.
CAN WE BRING SOLOS?
If you are interested in birnging solos, please email us for availability. We are currently accepting large groups (7+ dancers), small groups (4-6 dancers), and duos/trios.
how do i register?
Studio owners and teachers can register their students via the registration form linked above. Through the form you can upload your music, pay for your entries, and even include your tech notes.
I missed the submission deadline, can i still apply?
Please reach out to us via email to enquire about late submissions.
How many entries can I bring?
We encourage studios to bring between 3 and 5 pieces showcasing a range of genre and ages.
What is ticket fee for the performance?
The ticket fee is $5/ticket in advance, $7/at the door. More ticket information will be provided soon!
